HeartCode® ACLS is the AHA's online blended learning method for the HeartCode ACLS course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, wherein a student completes part of the course in a self-paced, self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session. Designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

The HeartCode ACLS Online Key is for the eLearning component of the blended learning course. It uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations such as eSimulations, animations, self-paced and self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students life-saving knowledge and skills. After completing the eLearning component, students will attend a structured, instructor-led course that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.
